The larger track. |
The apparatus is much like an old fashioned tow bar at a ski resort, a more land based example might be a cable car. Cables run above the circular water track with a tow bar hanging down for participants to grab on to.
Kyle gets ready to give it a go. |
Marc, Kyle, and I spent the majority of the day not on the larger track with obstacles, but on the bunny slopes of sorts - a singular back and forth run instead of the multi-person circular run. Given that there were quite a lot of people, and that the tow line occasionally got tangled in the overhead cables necessitating the climbing of the scaffolding by the operators, we only got in 5 "runs". I use "run" in a loose sense of the the term here. On only one occasion did I actually manage to stand up on the board and ride it for any length which could be considered "distance".
Despite failing miserably at actually wake boarding, the day in the sun was a lot of fun and it was great to try something new!
Waiting in line. |
